Headteacher Welcome Message

Irby Primary School

Welcome Message from Mrs McHale, Headteacher

I am delighted to welcome you to our website, which I hope will give you a glimpse into life at our happy, thriving school. It is both a privilege and an honour to serve as Headteacher at Irby Primary, a school family I have been part of for 16 wonderful years.

Irby Primary is a place where children can flourish not just academically, but personally, socially and creatively. Every aspect of school life is guided by our values of Collaboration, Expression, Inspiration, and Citizenship, which create a supportive, exciting and joyful learning experience.

Here at Irby, children are encouraged to work together, explore their ideas, develop confidence and make a positive difference in their school and community. We celebrate individuality, nurture curiosity and inspire a lifelong love of learning, making Irby Primary a place where every child can thrive and enjoy their learning journey.

Our dedicated staff work hard to provide an engaging, high-quality curriculum that not only supports academic success but also nurtures personal growth, creativity and resilience. We offer a wide range of enrichment opportunities, from clubs and trips to leadership roles, so every pupil can explore their interests and develop skills for life.

Partnership with families and our wider community is at the heart of everything we do. We warmly welcome your involvement, ideas and feedback and together we ensure that Irby remains a safe, supportive and inspiring place to learn.

Whether you are a prospective parent, a current family or a member of the wider community, we hope our website gives you a clear insight into the values, achievements, and opportunities our school offers. Please do get in touch if you would like to arrange a visit — we would be delighted to show you what makes Irby such a special place for learning and growing together.
