Collaboration

Irby Primary School
We believe in the impact of working together, knowing that when we share ideas, talents, and kindness, we can achieve more than any of us could alone. Whether in the classroom, across year groups, or with our families and wider community, we know that the best outcomes arise when we unite in purpose and support one another.

What does Collaboration look like at Irby Primary?

Forest of Wonder

In our Forest of Wonder, our Foundation Two children have the chance to work together, take safe risks, and develop new skills on a larger scale outdoors. They encourage one another, solve problems as a team, and grow in confidence while exploring and learning through play. This collaborative approach helps children build friendships, share ideas, and enjoy learning in a supportive, adventurous environment.

Represent Team Irby

Throughout the year, we take great pride in representing Team Irby. Our pupils actively participate in a wide variety of events, from sporting competitions and musical performances to community projects and academic challenges. Each opportunity allows them to showcase their talents, demonstrate teamwork, and build confidence both on and off the field.

Being part of Team Irby is about more than just taking part—it’s about embracing our values, supporting one another, and striving to do our best in every situation. We celebrate every achievement, big or small, and encourage our pupils to carry the spirit of Team Irby with them in everything they do.

Big Heart, Little Hands

At Irby Primary, our wonderful Year 6 pupils take on the special role of buddies for our youngest children in F2. They provide friendship, guidance, and support, helping them feel confident and settled as they begin their exciting journey in big school.

This buddy system fosters strong connections across year groups, encouraging kindness, empathy, and responsibility in our older pupils while giving our youngest children a familiar, caring face to turn to. Through Big Hearts, Little Friends, friendships blossom, confidence grows, and our school community becomes even stronger as children learn the value of looking out for one another.DownloadExpandDelete
