Reach Collaboration
'If we want to reach real peace in the world, we should start by educating children." Ghandi
Irby Primary School is proud to be part of a collaboration, consisting of a total of four Primary Schools:
Barnston Primary School
Heswall Primary School
Irby Primary School
Thingwall Primary School
Together we are the ‘Reach Collaboration’.
Committed to being an effective and collaborative team, our schools retain their individuality with independent governing bodies and strong leadership teams. This enables us to address our community needs and retain our unique school identities. The collaboration supports and enhances each school’s values, aims and focus for improvement by facilitating a partnership that ensures expertise, initiatives and experiences benefit every child in the four schools.
This special relationship is continuously nurtured and developed as staff, pupils and governors regularly meet and work together to share ideas, expertise, training and monitor standards across our schools in order that we consistently challenge our practice in order to evolve. The sharing of skills and knowledge by our highly effective staff teams, ensures that all pupils and staff receive the very best teaching and learning which is constantly refreshed, updated and tailored to our pupils needs. Our administration teams are also actively involved and share insight and knowledge in order to achieve the most effective shared practices for customer service and purchasing.
The Chair of each governing body meets termly with the Headteachers. They have developed a detailed strategic plan for Reach. This plan ensures that all four schools contribute to the collaboration and that value for money is pursued for all our schools. If other schools express an interest in joining our collaboration, due diligence will be carried out. Please contact the school office if your school is interested.
Our collaboration offers a range of teacher training programmes in conjunction with local universities, which ensure very high quality teaching staff for the future. Our training programmes are highly effective and many of our newly trained teachers gain positions in Wirral schools or our collaboration schools.
Above all, our schools work together with a shared view of providing the best for all our children. Committed to Reach Collaboration and a drive to improve, both individually and as a group, we are determined that our highly successful partnership will achieve even greater success moving forwards. We enjoy a highly successful and effective collaboration that enables the best opportunities for our pupils, staff, governors and families/community.
